As we arrive in London the landing is every bit as good as the one in Orlando, if only just a slightly bit colder (well a million degrees really!). We are advised that the temperature was only slightly above freezing point, well ten degrees or so, but still very cold, compared to the highs of Orlando We get through customs very quickly, and go out to find the limousine. Well there must be three or four white limos going round and round the collection area, but none are stopping. Fortunately Chris has his mobile phone and contacts the Limo Company. They advise that our car is driving round trying to find us. We manage to stop one of the limos and he is ours. We pile in, but the limo is very untidy. The glasses have been used; there is a strong smell of cigarettes. The driver takes three or four phone calls on the journey home. Russell is not best pleased!
We go home a very peculiar route (more peculiar than our journey to Gatwick was). We drop Chris and Joy off first (they live in Chingford), and the first tears fall... Russell and Brigitte are next (also in Chingford). Again it is sad as our holiday is really now at the end. We arrange to return the luggage that we have which contains some of the clothes as soon as possible. (N.B. We had to borrow a large bag off of them to bring home some of the many, many items of clothing that we had purchased during our visit.)
We then told the chauffeur that, as he would be unable to drive down our road, to drop us off at the bottom of the road. He replied that he had never met a road he couldn't get down. We tell him where to drive. He enters Queenswood Avenue and then reverses down Bridge End. (Oh I forgot to mention our road is a block end, and there would have been nowhere for him to turn around). As we are going backwards we see a little red Volkswagen Polo which resembles Mum's. In fact it is Mum! She has dropped around with milk and bread etc so that we have something for breakfast. She is really kind that way - well she is returning the favour, as that is what Anita does for them every time they go away. A few of the neighbours are looking at this long car reversing down the road wondering who can it be?
Well it's us and we open the doors and climb out - suntans to the fore. Mum stops trying to leave, parks the car, and helps us get the luggage in. We take the bags in, but before you can say boo, the kids are telling their Nanny all about the holiday, in massive amounts of detail. Indeed it becomes very obvious to us just how much Andrew actually remembers, and that he has formed the correct timelines within his mind. Mum is bombarded with all the details, is shown all the photographs that we purchased at the various parks and views all the purchases made, (apart from Granddad's Christmas presents!). It is quite sad that we are home, but it's great to see her. We are finally home. The holiday is finished. Although it is quite early, well about eleven O'clock in the morning, we are all quite tired. However we decide to go up to Mum & Dad's place in Chingford so that Granddad can get the treatment that Nanny has just received. It also means that we can have lunch up there. This we do and return home, as just "veg-out".
One final note, we have enjoyed ourselves so much, so very much that we are already planning our next trip to see Mickey and his friends. We will probably travel alone this time, but who knows... until our next adventure, thank you for reading!
Will we visit this again - I think so!
