Another bad night for Anita, and another lazy get-up, which includes having to wake Stef up – even though she was the first to crash out last night. Today is water park day – going to Typhoon lagoon, which is the best Disney water park now that River Country is closed.
We manage to park the car reasonably close to the entrance, and head in. We find some seats that haven’t been taken, and oil up, and everyone bar me heads off to swim, ride flumes etc. I don’t however as water and me don’t really mix. ?
I sit and read my book for a bit – but it is really hot. I go and grab a drink, well a jug that you can fill from a few places in the Park – the good news being that the refills are free! I arrange a locker and towels too.
I see Anita and Lauren in the main pool (where Florida’s biggest wave machine is situated) so decided to go and join them. I am made to feel very unwelcome, Lauren is very worried about me being the pool with my lack of swimming abilities. I head back to the chairs – tail between my legs, although I do have a sneaky little swim here! Though before I hit the beach lol!
Everyone returns for a drink and top up on suntan cream, and disappears again. I sit still and continue to read. They are obviously enjoying themselves – especially when you look at the pictures taken by the Park:

Everyone appear to get a touch burnt, Anita her face, legs and back, Andy and Lauren shoulders and back, Stef back of legs – and me – front of legs and feet! (probably due to mostly sitting and reading).
Everyone decides that it is too hot to remain here – and that maybe some retail therapy is called for! As we begin our journey to the car it begins to rain. We head off – looking to go to the top of the I-Drive to find what was previously called Belz, and now is called Prime 1 outlets! It has begun to rain a bit harder – but it is quite refreshing walking in warm rain – so we don’t bother with any coverings, or other silly things like rain wear!

We visit a few shops, with Nike and Converse being hit for trainers and boots! As we carry on round the mall, the rain continues to get heavier, and heavier. We come across a great clothes shop – and as we walk around it there are some amazing clothes. Lauren can’t make up her mind, and has at least three outfits in her hands when she spies some other great clothes that are all covered in images of the Penguin. Not from “happy feet” but from the Batman comics. They are very stylish, and Andy wants some too. Fortunately they have some for guys too. They also have some great jackets with Spongebob on the back. Stef is desperate for one, and Anita and I decide that we should buy Jan one too – for either birthday or Christmas present. Lauren and Andy both decide on their outfits – which when we get to the till, we find out that everything is really quite cheap – well the Penguin stuff is buy one item get one of same or lesser value free! We thought we might have spend four figures, and it turns out to be $653 – which relates to about £325! A fantastic deal.
We go into a gadget shop and Andy buys himself a model Ducatti, to go with his hummer that he bought in Epcot.
We then move on to find "The Children’s Place", a great children’s clothes shop. We always find loads of bargains for Christmas presents for some of our little friends. Andy wants to go back to the Nike store – to get a pair of trainers, a new pair of shox – which we have not seen anywhere else, and he had hoped that Footlocker would have them – and probably cheaper, but they hadn’t. Went back, to buy some from the Nike shop, and the rain has got very heavy now.
Pair bought and then we go back to "The Children’s Place" – though the now very pissistant rain – only they are not in there. The next proposed stop was the Levi’s shop – Anita had to buy a Levi’s for someone she works with, so we amble off – trying to keep out of the now very hard rain!
Look into shop – no sign, even walked in to check, but they are not there – and we are wet though which makes the air-conditioning not as nice as it usually is. In fact I am very wet through, and becoming a little agitated as we can not find Anita and the girls.
We begin to retrace our steps, back towards Nike – in case they had passed us by. No joy at all!
We run around trying to find them – even going back to the car. Andy is the better one to run to the car – as the rain is now very very hard – and the wind has picked up. Warm rain has been superseded with wet and cold rain!
Still no joy – so we begin to walk back on the route we have now travelled at least twice trying to find them. My trainers are squeaking due to the excess water. We are trying to stay reasonably dry – ducking and diving through the awnings of shops – but are fighting a losing battle.
We look up, and there they are – walking in a line towards us – smiling and laughing and reasonably dry! They had been in the Levi’s shop or so they tell me!
As a lot of the shops are closing due to the inclement weather we decided to head off – so walk back to the car. As we drive down I-Drive we spot a cowboy boot specialist, and head in on. It is very cold in there – thanks to the air conditioning – I am actually shivering, but no-one seems to notice. Lauren had mentioned that she quite fancied a new pair of cowboy boots – we had bought here a great pair when we visited Las Vegas a couple of years back.

The air conditioning was blowing a gale, so I very quickly became colder and colder. Lauren and Stef began to try on boots – it was a question of finding the right size.
We noticed a sign that said buy one pair of boots get 2 free. Anita went and asked exactly what it meant – and yes it was true – three pairs of boots for the same price as one! We decided to let Lauren have two pairs, and Stef one – with Stef paying a third and Lauren two thirds. It worked out at about £40.00 a pair! A great deal. Anita also got some details about saddlery places, so that we might be able to go and have a look to see if we can buy anything horsey!
Jump back into the car, and head for home. A quick reheated pizza, and then all to bed as tomorrow was going to be a big day. We need to be up early to go to Discovery Cove.
