London calling!

The landing is good. We have to wait for maybe 20 minutes, and then we can get off the airplane. A long walk to passport control, and a long queue here too. A quick question – how come when we arrive in the US are the US queues short (i.e. US Nationals) and the foreign lines long but when we come home the same can't be said for EU nationals? Seems a touch strange if you ask me.

We then have to go to the baggage reclaim, and Andy and Anita do their stuff pulling the bags off the carousel, as I walk them to where the girls are sitting, and go back and get another one. Unfortunately in one of the bags a bottle of nail varnish remover has split open and covered everything in gunk. It smells quite bad too! We manage to dump the really bad gunked stuff – fortunately nothing too important is in the bag - and obviously the split bottle – although it has been in a plastic bag in the bag – otherwise worse might have occurred.

When we have all the bags (all nine of them!) we begin to move off – just as one of the sniffer dogs was walking past us. I was sure he would go nuts at the bag that had the nail varnish remover in it – but he didn't. We walk through to customs, and walk through the nothing to declare section and out. We now have the fun of trying to find the Limo to get us home.

We go onto one level – and Anita tries to ring him. He is on a lower level – so we head downwards. There are a group of scouts who are blocking the whole pavement. We politely ask them to allow us through, and the scout leaders launches into a tirade of swearing. Andy comments back – and more swearing occurs. We walk on – as they do actually get out of the way. Most of the scouts appear shocked that their leader is using this choice language. Scouting has certainly come a long way from when I was a scout, because if I had sworn the leader would have clipped me around the ear – not be the one to be so rude!

We arrive at the Limo – and I am worried that we are not all going to get in with the amount of luggage we have – but the driver is very good – and packs it in, and we get in. It is not quite as spacious as we when we originally left, over two weeks previously. Andy and Stef are quite close together. About 15 minutes into the journey Stef goes very green so Lauren and her change seats.

We have wound the windows down, and Stef sticks her head out – and proceeds to throw up – fortunately none hits the limo – but I'm not sure about the cars behind! Stef and her bodily functions…. Lol. She leaves her head out for maybe ten minutes – then comes in, and looks tons better. The rest of the journey home is not too bad the driver turns the limo round before entering our road, and reverses the whole length! We exit, and then Andy and I get all the bags in doors.

First thing on the agenda for me was to make breakfast for everyone! Which was achieved in record time!

We are pleased to be home – it seems like a long time since we left, and there's nothing quite like sleeping in your own bed – although I'm sure we will miss the mega – sized bed!

So Another holiday is over – it's back to work tomorrow for me – Anita has a couple more days off. Andy's back to college on Tuesday, Stef like me is working tomorrow and Lauren has until Wednesday.

Still its only about five months till our next adventure – Bali here we come!
